This week, I was randomly looking over my greengrocer’s array of vegetables, when I saw something. A butternut. Five seconds later, it had found its way into my basket. Love at first sight I tell you! And then, once I had it on my kitchen counter, I was overwhelmed by an incredible gustatory laziness. I didn’t feel like butternut soup, or mashed butternut, or even butternut gratin. It was all so deja-vu, my tastebuds were bored beforehand.
I didn’t have any solution to my problem. Which is how I abandonned my butternut.
Not very long afterwards though, I found this recipe by la Goumandiseuse. She had found the solution to my problem: a butternut cheesecake!
Tadaa!
I scrupulously followed her recipe, and let me tell you that that cheesecake didn’t resist long to the assaults of three botomless stomachs (just to you know, that includes me, the bearded boy in my life, and my sister who had come over for dinner – she even sneaked back to the kitchen to finish the last slice … I know it was you!! – )
So basically, it’s delicious! You can follow her instructions directly on her lovely website (all the other recipes are worth a look at too by the way. And so do the pictures. Ok, so, I really do love this website!). As for me, I think I just found a new classic for my end of the year celebrations dinners.
Yummy!
